What is "My Model"

BET-J is taking its viewers on a sophisticated ride into the world of fashion styling with the new reality competition, My Model Looks Better Than Your Model. The first episode airs November 1, 2006 at 10:00 p.m. and, thereafter every Wednesday night. My Model is a one of a kind show that provides entertainment, glamour and aspiring fashion stylists a chance to flex their fashion muscle.

Twelve contestants will vie for a chance of a lifetime – to style the show’s host, Eva Pigford, in a fashion editorial for TRACE magazine. Each week, Ms. Pigford will assign the contestants a theme. Then, contestants will select clothing from the most expensive design houses, via My Model’s clothing sponsor, Century 21. The "My Model Glam Team" represents the best in the business and consists of celebrity make-up artist D'Angelo Thompson, professional make-up artist Aisha Ferguson and celebrity hairstylist Hadiya Barbel. Each hopeful will work with the "My Model Glam Team" to create an image that best represents the assigned theme. As a final component of the challenge, the contestants will art direct a photo shoot with photographer, Garfield Hall and then, are judged by the panel of fashion experts. One winner from each episode will go on to compete in the semi-finals. From the semi-finals, only two are selected to compete in the finale for the grand prizes

BET J's New Show, "My Model"

TV Debut

Not many of you know that I auditioned for a reality show called, “My Model” on BETJ, a while ago. Well, I just recently finished shooting my episode this week. This show is a competition between stylists fighting for a magazine editorial spread in Trace Magazine. Each week three stylist choose clothing from Century 21 Department Store. Host, Eva Pigford from America Next Top Model gives a theme each stylist must use for inspiration for the clothing. Once the looks have been choosen, then a photo shoot takes place. The show ends with a panel of fashionistas judging each photo. Only one stylist from each show moves on to the next round. It was an experience that I would not trade for anything. I’m super excited to be on TV. I hope you enjoy.

Are you Man enough to wear Sequins?

The Fendi guy will wear sequins for spring 2007. Fendi sent clean tailored silhouettes down the runway, with a splash of bling. Yes, the fantastic sequin cardigans are genius! Extremely masculine, the sweater vest almost looks like its just a textured surface. But believe me, they completely cover the entire piece in black, beige and navy. Sequined tops are not just for ladies anymore. Fellas, be bold and get ready to accessorize!
